The Great Hall

The Great Hall was Hogwarts' gathering place - located next to the Entrance Hall, students and teachers ate and congregated for events, most prominently the Hogwarts Sorting Ceremony. The Hall's ceiling was enchanted to look like the sky, changing with the time of day and weather. And while the Great Hall was usually used for general feasting, it hosted special events too, such as the Hallowe'en and Christmas feasts, where the whole hall would be transformed with the appropriate magical decorations.
