## If you like to take the lead… you’re most like Fred
Fred Weasley was the twin that liked to take the lead. If there was a joke, scheme or anything particularly outrageous happening, you’d most likely find that he was the instigator. After all, it was Fred who Mr Weasley caught clutching Ron’s hand in an attempt to make an Unbreakable Vow. He was the one to ‘accidentally’ drop the Ton-Tongue Toffee in front of Dudley. He was the one behind the wheel of the flying Ford Anglia when he, George and Ron rescued Harry from Privet Drive. And it was Fred who would take the lead in conversations. Once he had everyone’s attention with a witty joke, statement or occasional impression, then that would normally be the point when George stepped in. So, if you’re known for being a leader and are often the one to be found at the centre of the chaos, then you are most like Fred. You’re certainly not lacking in confidence, and you make every room you walk into a little, well, a lot more fun.

## If you’re more empathetic… you’re just like George
There is no doubt that George Weasley was hilarious and excellent at practical jokes. However, he was also the slightly quieter twin, who tended to demonstrate a little more compassion than his brother. In *Prisoner of Azkaban*, when Oliver Wood was singing the praises of the Gryffindor Quidditch team and glossed over himself, it was George who piped up to remind him that he was very good too. He also tried to comfort Ron after the supposed death of Scabbers – while Fred just stuck to teasing his younger brother. He was also the one to take time to explain things to people. When he and Fred bequeathed Harry the Marauder’s Map, George was the one who explained what it did and tried to reassure Harry that he and Fred no longer needed it. So, if you can be level-headed, diplomatic and can read people well, you’re most like George. We’re not saying you aren’t funny or spontaneous, but you can be tactful and are better at recognising when to take things seriously.

As we ready ourselves for the launch of the latest film in the Fantastic Beasts series, *Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore*, you can expect questions on the titular character Albus Dumbledore, alongside some general knowledge on the first and second films. Now, there is only one round of this latest Quiz Championship, so expect a bumper pack of questions (30, to be specific) – and be sure to think extra-carefully as you go through. There will be no second chances!

Then, once our quiz launches, you’ll gain a point for every correct quiz answer. ## When she sacked and humiliated Professor Trelawney 
Ok, so Professor Trelawney was hardly the most popular teacher. And yes, her talents as a Seer were questionable. However, when Umbridge sacked and publicly humiliated her in front of the entire school, it was truly heart-breaking. What made it worse was that Umbridge seemed to relish in Trelawney’s pain. 

>‘You didn’t realise this was coming?’ said a high girlish voice, sounding callously amused, and Harry, moving slightly to his right, saw that Trelawney’s terrifying vision was nothing other than Professor Umbridge. ‘Incapable though you are of predicting even tomorrow’s weather, you must surely have realised that your pitiful performance during my inspections, and lack of any improvement, would make it inevitable that you would be sacked?’

>‘You c – can’t!’ howled Professor Trelawney, tears streaming down her face from behind her enormous lenses, ‘you c – can’t sack me! I’ve b – been here sixteen years! H – Hogwarts is m – my h – home!’

## When she revealed how she liked to punish her students
Umbridge’s idea of what was an acceptable punishment was truly barbaric. Her ‘special quill’ was nothing more than torture. It was sickening to see how gleeful she was at the prospect of inflicting physical pain on those who were in her care. As a teacher, she was in a position of authority – which only added to the cruelty of this situation.

>She moved over to her desk, sat down and bent over a stack of parchment that looked like essays for marking. Harry raised the sharp black quill, then realised what was missing.

>‘You haven’t given me any ink,’ he said.

>‘Oh, you won’t need ink,’ said Professor Umbridge, with the merest suggestion of a laugh in her voice.

>Harry placed the point of the quill on the paper and wrote: *I must not tell lies*. He let out a gasp of pain. The words had appeared on the parchment in what appeared to be shining red ink. ## When she was willing to use an Unforgivable Curse on a student 
For Umbridge to even consider using the Cruciatus Curse on Harry was, well, unforgivable. This moment not only showed us that she was truly devoid of a moral compass but also revealed that she had been the one to set the Dementors on Harry during the summer holidays. For someone who was all about making and enforcing rules, she was more than happy to break them if it meant she could get what she wanted.

## The way she spoke about Hagrid
Umbridge’s contempt for those who weren’t pure-blood witches or wizards was despicable. She was especially cruel to Hagrid, and her vindictive personality would shine through every time she spoke to or about him. We can just hear the venom in her voice when she referred to him as a ‘great half-breed oaf’.

>‘It’s hidden in Hagrid’s hut, is it?’ said Umbridge eagerly in Harry’s ear.

>‘Of course not,’ said Hermione scathingly. ‘Hagrid might have set it off accidentally.’

## When it was revealed what she kept on her office door at the Ministry of Magic 
This particular instance turned our stomach. Mad-Eye Moody had been killed and somehow Umbridge had come into possession of his magical eye and placed it on her office door for all to see. We have complete sympathy with Harry for being filled with rage at this moment – the lack of respect she had for a fellow human being, and colleague, was disgusting. 

>The witch glanced towards the shining mahogany door facing the space full of pamphlet-makers; Harry looked too, and rage reared in him like a snake. Where there might have been a peephole on a Muggle front door, a large, round eye with a bright blue iris had been set into the wood; an eye that was shockingly familiar to anybody who had known Alastor Moody.

## Becoming head of the Muggle-born Registration Commission 
This particular role was made for Umbridge. It was Dolores in all her horrible glory – where she could thrive on using and abusing her powers. She got to freely act on her bigoted beliefs without any fear of repercussions. The way she smugly taunted the Muggle-borns made our skin crawl. 

>‘A wand was taken from you upon your arrival at the Ministry today, Mrs Cattermole,’ Umbridge was saying. ‘Eight and three- quarter inches, cherry, unicorn hair core. Do you recognise that description?’
>
>Mrs Cattermole nodded, mopping her eyes on her sleeve.
>
>‘Could you please tell us from which witch or wizard you took that wand?’
>
>‘T – took?’ sobbed Mrs Cattermole. ‘I didn’t t – take it from anybody. I b – bought it when I was eleven years old. It – it – it – chose me.’

>Umbridge laughed a soft, girlish laugh that made Harry want to attack her. She leaned forwards over the barrier, the better to observe her victim, and something gold swung forwards too, and dangled over the void: the locket.

## Newt Scamander 
This intrepid Magizoologist and author of *Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them* has been on quite the adventure in the last two films, which only seems set to continue. Though he has always been at his happiest when surrounded by his magical menagerie, he has witnessed first-hand the terrible consequences of Grindelwald’s rise to power and knows he can no longer stay on the side lines. Recognising his abilities, Albus Dumbledore has chosen this Hufflepuff to lead a group of witches, wizards and Muggle to help enact his plan to bring Grindelwald down – which we know will be no easy task.

## Albus Dumbledore
This Hogwarts professor is the brains behind the plot to bring down his former friend, and Dark wizard, Gellert Grindelwald. As arguably the most powerful wizard within the magical world, many regard him as the only person capable of putting a stop to Grindelwald’s plan for war. However, due to a blood troth made by the pair when they were younger, Dumbledore is unable to move against him. Therefore, he’s had to form a trusted group, led by Newt Scamander, to put his plan of stopping Grindelwald into action. Although, at the end of the previous film the vial containing the troth was stolen from Grindelwald – thanks to Teddy the Niffler! So, we wonder whether Dumbledore will now be able to destroy it and be able to personally help halt the destruction of both the wizarding and non-magical worlds.

## Gellert Grindelwald 
This cruel, yet charismatic, Dark wizard has emerged from the shadows and is putting his plan to seize control of the wizarding world into action. He has managed to gain quite the following and has persuaded many that wizards should rule over Muggles for ‘The Greater Good’. Totally convinced of his power (and in possession of the Elder Wand), he believes that nobody is powerful enough to stop him – not even Albus Dumbledore.

## Queenie Goldstein
Queenie shocked us all at the end of *Crimes of Grindelwald* when she appeared to join Grindelwald’s cause. However, it was due to her desperation and love for Muggle Jacob Kowalski – who she would not be allowed to be with under American wizarding law – which drove her to make such dramatic move. Misunderstanding Grindelwald’s vision for the world, she believed this was the only way they could be together. Now, at Grindelwald’s side, he is exploiting her ability to read minds (due to being a Legilimens) for his own ends. We wonder how long Queenie will allow her powers to be used and whether she will manage to find her way back to Jacob.

## Jacob Kowalski
Flung into the chaos of the wizarding world, this Muggle baker seemed to take everything in his stride. Yet, Queenie’s decision to join Grindelwald broke his heart, upended his entire world and stopped him from finding joy in things – including his beloved bakery. When asked to venture back into the magical world, he is reluctant. However, his love for Queenie and desire to be reunited with her is stronger than his wish to sit things out. Jacob has become part of the team tasked with putting an end to Grindelwald’s rise to power. And this time he has even been given a special gift by Dumbledore – his very own wand!

## Aberforth Dumbledore
Aberforth is the younger brother of Albus Dumbledore and owner of The Hog’s Head Inn in Hogsmeade. He clearly has quite a lot of resentment towards his brother, as well as Grindelwald, which is mainly due to the death of his and Albus’ little sister, Ariana. However, despite his anger towards his older sibling, he is still willing to let Dumbledore and his companions use his pub for secret meetings. We guess his hatred of Grindelwald outstrips any animosity he holds towards Albus.

## Bunty Broadacre
We first met Newt’s loyal assistant in *Crimes of Grindelwald*, and we’re set to see more of her in this next bit of the story. Bunty might be used to helping Newt manage his magical menagerie (especially when it comes to wrangling those naughty baby Nifflers) but Dumbledore has a brand-new assignment for her. And it seems as though even Newt might not be privy to exactly what it is…

## Yusuf Kama
We first met Yusuf in Paris during the second *Fantastic Beasts* film and know that he is part of the group which Dumbledore has assembled. His motivations for bringing down Grindelwald are highly personal. Yusuf blames the Dark wizard for the tragic fate of his half-sister, Leta Lestrange, who’s death he witnessed at Grindelwald’s rally.

## Lally Hicks
We briefly saw Lally Hicks in *Crimes of Grindelwald*, but in this film she’s set to take a bigger role. As the Charms professor at Ilvermorny there is no doubt that she is a talented witch. She is also a friend of Albus Dumbledore and an admirer of Newt Scamander’s work. In fact, they have been corresponding since he released his book – though this is the first time they have met. As someone who is resourceful, gifted and unafraid to speak her mind, it is no wonder that Albus Dumbledore has picked her to be involved in the operation to defeat Grindelwald.

## Theseus Scamander 
Theseus is the Head of the Auror office in Britain and also happens to be the older brother of Newt Scamander, who he has always worried about (especially when he gets in trouble with the Ministry of Magic). He is also a member Dumbledore’s new group. At the end of the last film, he witnessed his fiancée, Leta, be engulfed by Grindelwald’s flames – so we can imagine that has added another dimension to his desire to stop the Dark wizard. As part of Dumbledore’s team, he is also set to see a new side of his brother, who has gone from keeping to himself while caring for his beasts, to a leader who is willing to pick a side. Theseus is proud to follow his brother in the fight against Grindelwald’s tyranny.

## Credence Barebone
At the end of the last film, Grindelwald gave Credence a wand to channel his magic and revealed that he is actually Aurelius Dumbledore. However, do we trust this Dark wizard to be telling the truth? We know that he wants to keep Credence close and has been grooming him for a special mission – and Credence appears to be happy to be one of Grindelwald’s acolytes. However, he is still in danger, as the magical force known as an Obscurus remains a part of him – which not only threatens his life but those around him too.

## 6: Trick Wands
In sixth place with have Trick Wands. There is no doubt that it would be rather funny to watch your friends try and cast a spell only for their wand to turn into a rubber chicken, a pair of underpants or box them round the head. Although having said that, we reckon this practical joke would only work the once and it would be difficult to fool your friend for a second time, which is why we haven’t placed it any higher on the list.

## 5: Headless Hats
Next, we have Fred and George’s Headless Hats. We think there are plenty of tricks you could play with these rather ingenious inventions. Just pop one of these on your head, pretend to be a ghostly apparition and watch the horrified chaos unfold in front of you. Although, this is still towards the bottom of our list as we reckon there are many ways that this could backfire. Sometimes scaring people doesn’t always go according to plan – and you may end up having to use these hats to hide from an irate target of your joke…

## 4: Portable Swamps
In fourth place we have the Portable Swamps. The size of the swamp is what makes this one funny. When the Weasley twins made their grand exit during *Order of the Phoenix*, and left this behind as a memento, the commotion they caused was brilliant. The image of Argus Filch (who is crochety at the best of times) punting students back and forth to their lessons with a scowl on his face is just perfect – not to mention the headache it caused Professor Umbridge. However, as these are notoriously difficult to get rid of, we think that the joke could end up wearing a bit thin and you might get fed up of having to wade across the grimy water with permanently wet feet.

## 3: Weasleys’ Wildfire Whiz-bangs
We believe that Weasleys’ Wildfire Whiz-bangs just sneak ahead of Portable Swamps, mainly due to the spectacular show they put on. From sparklers that write swear words to immense fire-breathing dragons, there is something for every budding mischief maker. The pandemonium caused by the Weasley twins when they let them loose in Hogwarts has also pushed them up our list. The thought of slightly-singed and irate Umbridge trying to get control of the colourful chaos, but only managing to make things worse, is just plain funny – it couldn’t have happened to a nicer person. Yet these haven’t quite made the top, as it was the circumstances that made this prank so amusing rather than the product itself. Although, the scope for creating mischief with these should not be underestimated.

## 2: Skiving Snackboxes 
Creeping up towards the top we have the snacks you would be best to avoid. The sheer range of products makes this one impressive – from Ton-Tongue Toffees to Fainting Fancies, to Nosebleed Nougat, there are so many opportunities for a budding troublemaker to cause a scene. Though for us, the funniest one has to be the Canary Cream. The thought of watching one of your friends suddenly morphing into a giant Canary after eating a custard cream is just hilarious – you’d have to be completely devoid of a sense of humour to not even crack a smile. And for only seven Sickles each, we reckon they’re a bargain.

## 1: U-No-Poo
Taking the top spot, we have the constipation sensation that is sweeping the nation. A classic joke, it proves that sometimes simplicity is key. Mrs Weasley may have worried that the excellent name would have led to Fred and George being murdered in their beds, but we personally think it was a bit of comic genius. It does exactly what it says on the tin and makes one of the darkest wizards to have ever existed seem that little bit less scary. We don’t think we really need to say any more than that.

## This particular choice of words
Dumbledore’s speech at the very start of Harry’s first year sums up his sillier side perfectly. While he had to give the warnings about forbidden corridors and potential death, he knew that a bit of nonsense was exactly what was needed to lighten the mood – classic Dumbledore.

## Yum… earwax
This is probably one of Dumbledore’s most memorable lines. Though he was often seen as the wise old wizard that helped guide Harry through his journey, he was also the one who ate an earwax flavoured Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Bean... and that was hilarious.

## When he suddenly couldn’t hear anything
On the whole, calling someone a ‘cow’ in front of your headteacher is probably not the wisest move, but luckily for Harry, Dumbledore developed selective hearing at that very moment – leading to this funny interaction. 

>‘Of course we still want to know you!’ Harry said, staring at Hagrid. ‘You don’t think anything that Skeeter cow – sorry, Professor,’ he added quickly, looking at Dumbledore.

## His sweet tooth
Dumbledore had a sweet tooth, and his love of sherbet lemons was unparalleled. In fact, it was even the password to his office at one point – along with several other sweets. We adore the childish glee he had for these boiled sweets and the fact he could be thinking about them at the same time as discussing something as serious as Voldemort. 

>‘It certainly seems so,’ said Dumbledore. ‘We have much to be thankful for. Would you care for a sherbet lemon?’

## When he thought Professor Trelawney might deserve a pay rise
It was always great to see Dumbledore’s cheekier side and the topic of Divination often seemed to bring it out of him. Remember the time he said it was understandable that Harry fell asleep during one of these lessons? His sass was also very much on display when he made this comment about Professor Trelawney and her skills (or lack of them)…

## His comments on Fawkes’ Burning Day
There’s no doubt that Dumbledore was having a bit of fun with Harry here. As someone not used to lifecycle of a phoenix, it’s no wonder that Harry was rather alarmed to see his headmaster’s pet burst into flames. And we enjoyed that Dumbledore’s response was to lean into Harry’s horror and act so casual about entire thing, displaying his impeccable comic timing.

>‘Professor,’ Harry gasped, ‘your bird – I couldn’t do anything – he just caught fire –’

## His visit to the Dursleys in Half-Blood Prince
This entire visit has to be one of our favourite moments at Privet Drive. As soon as Dumbledore made that witty retort to Uncle Vernon about rudeness and it being best to say nothing, we knew that he was out to cause some mischief. This desire was flawlessly encapsulated by the incident with the rather persistent goblets…

>The Dursleys, after quick, scared looks at each other, tried to ignore their glasses completely, a difficult feat, as they were nudging them gently on the sides of their heads. Harry could not suppress a suspicion that Dumbledore was rather enjoying himself.

We agree with Harry here, Dumbledore was definitely having some fun. There was no way that he couldn’t see what was happening with those cups and we liked that rather than intervene, he let it play out for as long as possible with amusing results (and an excellent remark about politeness).

Grindelwald and Dumbledore's chequered history: A deep dive

## Their first meeting
Albus Dumbledore first met Gellert Grindelwald at a rather difficult time in his life, when he was seventeen years old. He had just finished his studies at Hogwarts, where he had excelled at everything, been Head Boy and won prize after prize – including the Barnabus Finkley Prize for Exceptional Spell-Casting. This exciting stage of his life had been set to continue, as he was supposed to go on a tour of the world with his friend Elphias Doge. However, tragedy struck on the eve of their trip. His mother, Kendra, was killed in an accident and Albus had to return to Godric’s Hollow to take care of his brother, Aberforth and sister, Ariana. This was no easy task, as after being brutally attacked by a group of Muggle boys, his sister had turned her magic inwards, was unstable, sometimes dangerous and needed constant care. 

It just so happened that during that summer another wizard was preparing to spend some time in that particular village, Gellert Grindelwald. He had come to stay with his great aunt Bathilda Bagshot. Like Albus, Gellert was another gifted young wizard. However, according to Rita Skeeter (who isn’t known for being an especially reliable source), rather than channelling his abilities into winning prizes and achievements, Grindelwald had taken a different path and had been expelled from the Durmstrang Institute as a result. 

Yet, as two highly intelligent wizards of the same age who were stuck in a small village, it is easy to understand why these two were drawn to one another. Dumbledore and Grindelwald soon struck up a friendship, bouncing ideas off one another, obsessing over the Deathly Hallows and coming up with their plan of how the wizarding world could look if Muggles were subservient to wizards. 

Their conversations served as an escape for Dumbledore, who had felt trapped after the death of his mother and allowed him to imagine a future where he was free to do as he pleased. Dumbledore believed that if he and Grindelwald were successful at finding all the Hallows, not only would they become immensely powerful and the masters of death, but he could use the Resurrection Stone to bring his parents back and lift all the responsibility he had from his shoulders.

Yet, reality soon came calling for Dumbledore, in the form of his siblings…

## A falling out
During that summer, Dumbledore had neglected both his brother and his sister and Aberforth soon let him know about it. Aberforth was set to return to Hogwarts and was fed up with Dumbledore’s plotting with Grindelwald – in addition to being concerned about Ariana’s care. He bluntly reminded Albus that he could not go searching for the Deathly Hallows with his fragile sister in tow. Albus and Gellert were not happy to have their dreams crushed and made their feelings clear. 

According to Aberforth, this involved Grindelwald becoming angry and calling him a stupid little boy. He told Aberforth that Ariana would no longer have to be hidden if he and Albus were successful and that he shouldn’t stand in their way. 

Unfortunately, this argument soon took a turn for the worse and escalated into a fight. Aberforth drew his wand and so did Gellert. He used the Cruciatus Curse on Aberforth, which prompted Albus to try and stop him. Soon, all three wizards were duelling. The loud noises and flashing lights caused immeasurable distress to Ariana, who then tried to become involved. Aberforth always maintained that she wanted to help but didn’t know how. Amidst all the chaos, she ended up dead. Though nobody knows who was the one to cast the curse that killed her, Grindelwald fled and that marked the end of his and Dumbledore’s friendship.
