Part-dragon, part-horse, the Qilin was a magical beast native to China, resembling a deer with golden bronze scales covering their back. With precognitive abilities, the creatures could look into a person's soul and perceive their purity of heart - in which instance they would bow to them. This ability was used by the International Confederation of Wizards to determine who would be worthy of being appointed Supreme Mugwump. Newt Scamander attempted to rescue this rare magical creature doing the events of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
