Triwizard Tournament Fact File Body Text

The Triwizard tournament was a 700 year old competition established between three schools; [Hogwarts](/fact-file/locations/hogwarts) School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, [Durmstrang Institute](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/durmstrang-institute) and and [Beauxbatons Academy](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/beauxbatons-academy) of Magic. One champion from each school was selected to compete in three magical tasks, with their name magically being selected from the [Goblet of Fire](/fact-file/objects/the-goblet-of-fire). The winner of the competition claimed [the Triwizard Cup](/fact-file/objects/the-triwizard-cup) along with a monetary prize. After a hiatus of a number of years, due to a high fatality rate, the Triwizard Tournament returned to Hogwarts during Harry's fourth year at school.

Viktor Krum Fact File Body Text

Viktor Krum was already a [Quidditch](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/quidditch) star when he arrived at [Hogwarts](/fact-file/locations/hogwarts) for the [Triwizard Tournament](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/triwizard-tournament). Seeker for the Bulgarian national team, he featured in the Quidditch World Cup before travelling as [Durmstrang's](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/durmstrang-institute) champion. Strong, powerful and with unmatched flying skills, Krum was a tough competitor, but mostly got the Hogwarts students riled up when he took [Hermione Granger](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/hermione-granger) as his date to the [Yule Ball](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/yule-ball).

The Chinese Fireball was a dragon native to China who was given its name due to the mushroom shaped balls of flame that shot from its nostrils. An alternative name, the Liondragon, came from its scarlet colour and golden fringe surrounding its snub-snouted face. [Viktor Krum](/fact-file/characters-and-pets/viktor-krum) came up against the Chinese Fireball in the [Triwizard Tournament](/fact-file/magical-miscellany/triwizard-tournament) and used a Conjunctivitis Curse to secure his prize egg.

Ministry of Magic classifications  Fact File Body Text

Within [the Ministry of Magic](/fact-file/locations/the-ministry-of-magic), the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures created a system of rules to determine whether a magical creature was a "beast or being" and also gave each creature a classification in terms of how dangerous it was - or not! The rating was measured with "X" being the least dangerous and "XXXXX" being the most dangerous. So, a Flobberworm, for example, would be rated X, while something far more scary, such as a [Chinese Fireball](/fact-file/creatures/chinese-fireball) dragon, would be XXXXX.
