Bowtruckle

Peaceable creatures, with brown eyes and the appearance of a flat-faced stick figure made of bark and twigs, Bowtruckles were well camouflaged in their natural habitat of trees and green foliage. Bowtruckles could both gouge eyes and pick locks due to their long sharp fingers. They were also useful as they usually lived on trees with wand-quality wood. In order to distract a Bowtruckle and gain access to their tree, it was necessary to offer them woodlice or fairy eggs. Magizoologist Newt Scamander was particularly taken with one Bowtruckle he named Pickett.
