The revamped LEGO Harry Potter: Collection is coming to two of the major new games consoles, following on from the remastered version launching on the PS4 back in 2016.
Based on LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-5, which first came out in 2011, the action-adventure games invite players to relive the eight Harry Potter films, all via the medium of lovely LEGO.
Players of the original games may remember this involved exploring Hogwarts castle as various characters, solving puzzles, casting spells and visiting major wizarding world locations. You could also run into familiar characters, such as Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape – all as little, adorable LEGO versions of themselves, of course.
The new versions of the games, which will be coming to Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, will return with enhanced graphics, new visual effects and downloadable content (DLC) packs. The previously released DLC packs include characters such as the Hogwarts founders, Luna with her lion hat, and special Yule Ball editions of Harry and Hermione.
The remastered adventures come from the combined minds of TT Games, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and The Lego Group. Jonathan Smith, Head of Production and Strategic Director at TT Games, talked about bringing the games to a new generation.
'The LEGO Harry Potter: Collection for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One grants access for a new generation of players to experience Harry Potter’s magical journey through the imaginative lens of LEGO®,' he said in a statement. ‘Fans of all ages can embark on a light-hearted and interactive journey inspired by beloved characters and iconic locations from the Harry Potter films.’
The remastered LEGO Harry Potter: Collection, featuring all eight of the games, will be released 30 October. For more information, visit WB Games on Twitter.
