The annual celebration of reading Harry Potter returns for its sixth year.

Thursday 6 February is the sixth annual Harry Potter Book Night, a time for fans to celebrate the iconic series with a number of events, parties and other festivities. Started in 2014 by UK publisher Bloomsbury, this year’s theme is the Triwizard Tournament. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry’s name was put forward for him by a mystery individual to face the challenges against three other champions. Are you brave enough to put your name in the Goblet of Fire today?

You are invited to take part in a tournament of your own, competing in enchanting games, making magical crafts and testing your skills with an array of activities!

Events are taking all over the world, from Chile to Japan, East Java to Latvia – with many taking place in the UK, US and mainland Europe. Find out where your nearest event is here.

In the US, Pottermore Publishing, Scholastic and Penguin Random House Audio are celebrating the role that libraries have played as the perfect place to discover the wizarding world, with a Harry Potter Library Sweepstakes.

From Harry Potter Book Night itself on 6 February to 29 February 2020, US libraries and patrons can share what makes your local library magic to enter the sweepstakes using the hashtags #MyLibraryIsMagic and #Sweepstakes and tagging your library. Three lucky libraries will win the Harry Potter series in five different audio and text formats for their physical and digital collections! To find out how to enter and for more details click here.

So, get yourselves to your nearest bookshop or library where Harry Potter Book Night is taking place and share your creativity and the fun you’re having with #HarryPotterBookNight.

And PS: If you have the Wizarding World app, you might notice an influx of Triwizard Tournament chat popping up in your feed. Let the games begin.
