You’ve been making your Wizarding Passports in your millions – and sharing your top three favourite things about the Wizarding World. So, what’s coming up top so far?

Your Wizarding Passport serves as your new login to WizardingWorld.com and your key to interacting with Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts in a whole new way – in fact, you can still sign-up here. Back in May (it seems so long ago already, doesn’t it?), we invited you to share your favourite things about the Wizarding World (from Fantastic Beasts to Harry Potter) with us – picking your ultimate top three things, from favourite characters to favourite spells, and sharing the results online with #MyWizardingWorld.

In the past two months, we’ve noticed some interesting patterns in your top three favourites that you’ve been sharing so far. After all, there are 5,622,828 possible combinations. Fancy seeing a few of our findings?

Cauldron countdown

The most popular potion should be no surprise: we all want a bit of good luck, so Felix Felicis, it is. And out of all four houses, Ravenclaws fancied it the most – a logical decision indeed.

The Cannons finally win something

Chudley Cannons may be bottom of the league, but they are strong runners up in your favourites, coming in a close second to the Holyhead Harpies as your favourite Quidditch team.

Patronus Power

Expecto Patronum was your favourite spell overall – it came top with all four houses. Nearly twice as many Gryffindors chose it, compared to Slytherins. Accio, the incredibly useful Summoning Charm, was second most-popular for the most part (except with Slytherins, who much preferred Sectumsempra. We wonder why…)

Sorry, Flitwick

McGonagall’s biggest fans are Ravenclaws! Well, the Head of Gryffindor was nearly a Ravenclaw herself, you know.

Crabbe vs. Goyle?

For those who actually picked Crabbe or Goyle in their favourite character category (hey, each to their own...), just like Draco, you couldn’t choose between them. Perhaps because no-one can really tell them apart?

House love for Hermione

The most popular Hogwarts student picked overall across all four houses? Drum roll please... it’s Hermione Granger! Individually, Ravenclaws picked Luna Lovegood, Slytherins picked Draco Malfoy, Gryffindors went for Hermione and, well, Hufflepuffs also went for Hermione. Interesting that the all-inclusive Hufflepuff house chose someone outside of their own pack.

Care of Magical Creatures

Hufflepuff house’s top five magical creatures, in reverse order, are:

  1. Bowtruckle
  2. Dragon
  3. Phoenix
  4. Niffler
  5. Hippogriff

To our knowledge, the phoenix is the only of these not to have been cared for by notable Hufflepuff, Newt Scamander.

The popular prison

There’s not a witch or wizard who went bad that wasn’t in Slytherin, and three times as many Slytherins chose a stint in Azkaban compared to Hufflepuffs.

Hufflepuffs love...

...Butterbeer more than the other houses! Can you blame them?

The place we all call home

No surprises to learn that the most popular location of all was... Hogwarts. Of course. All four houses are in firm agreement there.

Funny what your Wizarding Passport favourites can teach us about Harry Potter fans. If you haven’t tried making one yourself yet, give it a go here.

So, there you have it. And this is only one of the things your Wizarding Passport can do – if you’re based in the UK or US, remember that passport holders have the chance to enter our sweepstake to win tickets to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in either London, San Francisco or New York – your choice.
