A magical plant that resembled a large black slug, Bubotubers were full of very valuable pus which could be used to cure acne. The Bubotubers needed to be handled carefully and extraction was done with the use of dragon-hide gloves to prevent damage to the wearer's hands. The plant was introduced to Harry and his fellow classmates by Professor Sprout in fourth-year Herbology lessons.
