The Elder Wand

Created by Death and given to Antioch Peverell, when united with the Resurrection Stone and the Invisibility Cloak, the Elder Wand made its bearer the ‘Master of Death.’ Arguably the most sought after of the Deathly Hallows, the Elder Wand was the most powerful of its kind, making its owner virtually unbeatable. With a core of Thestral tail hair, the wand was fifteen inches long and made of elder wood. Loyal to the witch or wizard who has ‘won’ it from its previous owner, the Elder Wand was the cause of a huge amount of conflict between those desperate to claim it for their own. Also known as ‘the Deathstick’ and ‘The Wand of Destiny’ the Elder Wand was wielded by wizards such as Grindelwald, Voldemort, Dumbledore, Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter.
