Sybill Trelawney's first prophecy
Sybill Trelawney's first prophecy was made as she was interviewing for the role of Divination professor at Hogwarts with Albus Dumbledore at the Hog's Head Inn. In a trance, she referred to a boy who would be born with the power to defeat Lord Voldemort, but that neither the boy nor the Dark wizard could live whilst the other survived. Although Voldemort learned of the prophecy, he did not hear it in its entirity and became determined to find the full story at the Department of Mysteries.
