Augurey
Also known as the Irish Phoenix, the Augurey was a mournful looking magical bird that was similar to a small vulture with greenish black features and a sharp beak in appearance. Although the Augrey's distinctive cry was a prediction of rain, rumour and folklore claimed that it was a precursor to death, meaning the creature was feared despite its gentle nature.
