Dean Thomas came from a Muggle family so was more at home with red cards and strikers than Quaffles and Beaters. Eventually, however, Dean learned how to fly and made himself useful when a spot arose on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. He even attended the Quidditch World Cup along with his best friend Seamus Finnigan. Like Seamus, Dean was a supporter of dormitory-mate Harry Potter, particularly as the threat from Lord Voldemort began to grow.
