## If you struggle with nerves… you’re like Ron Weasley
Oh Ron – he really struggled when it came to Quidditch matches. As soon as all eyes were on him it seemed like he suddenly forgot how to play the game. Yet, he *was* a talented player – he just needed to have a little more faith in himself. When he did manage to muster up some confidence (thanks to Harry, a certain potion and a placebo effect) he was brilliant. If you can relate to this, then we think you are most like Ron. You’re probably the type of person that isn’t used to being the centre of attention and can struggle with self-esteem. As soon as someone is watching you – whether that’s during a work presentation, school play or sporting event, you can get overwhelmed and fumble. However, you are supremely talented and once you get into your stride, you impress everyone around you.

## If you’re incredibly passionate about your hobbies… you’re like Ginny Weasley
Ginny Weasley was passionate about Quidditch. From the moment she first broke into her family’s broom shed to practice her Quidditch skills, she was hooked. It may have taken a while for her talent to have been recognised but once it was, she was unstoppable. In fact, she even managed to make her passion her career. If you’re someone who pours all their energy into their hobbies and has always dreamed of turning it into what you do for a living, you’re most like this talented Weasley. Whether you have a love of football, art, acting, singing, writing, baking or even crocheting, you never get tired of your favourite interest, always strive to be the very best and have big dreams.

## If you are very strategic person… you’re like Oliver Wood
If you’re the person that lives by mottos such as ‘failure to prepare is preparing to fail’, then we think you’re most similar to Oliver Wood. The captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team was nothing if not organised. He was famous for his rigorous training regimes (including some criminally early starts), motivational speeches and complicated diagrams – all designed to try and lead Gryffindor to victory. He certainly had a strategic mind and if you’re like him, then so do you. You’re probably the person who does most of the planning in your friendship group, organises itineraries for trips that go into the most minute detail and always feels horrified when someone suggests ‘winging it’.

## If you’re a determined leader… you’re like Angelina Johnson
When Oliver Wood left Hogwarts, and the Gryffindor Quidditch team needed a new captain, it was Angelina Johnson who took on that job. She more than lived up to Oliver’s reputation as a strong captain. She had very high expectations of her team and didn’t stand for any of their nonsense. Her dedication to her role as captain was apparent and she was clearly a strong leader. If you’re like Angelina, then we think you’re someone who is willing to take charge when necessary. Whether you’re the captain of a sports team, the head of a project or a manager in your job, you are a natural leader who is tough (but fair) and often a force to be reckoned with.

## If you like to have all the latest gadgets... then you’re like Draco Malfoy
Do you like to have all the latest gadgets? Do you upgrade your phone every time a new model comes out? Do you think that any piece of technology more than three years old is irrelevant? Do you even know what VHS is? If this sounds anything like you, then we think you’re most similar to Draco Malfoy. Who can forget just how smug he was when he got hold of the Nimbus 2001? He was thrilled to have the latest model of broomstick – which would only enhance his Quidditch performance. Now, we’re not saying you share any of his nasty or smug traits, but you do have a similar appreciation for all the most up to date appliances and gadgets. Anything that makes life easier is a win in your eyes… and you reckon it helps to make you look cool too.

## If you are an excellent team player… you’re like Katie Bell
Katie Bell was a great team player and there was no trio quite like the three Gryffindor Chasers – Katie, Alicia and Angelina. These three seemed to be incredibly in sync with one another, anticipating each other’s moves and scoring vast numbers of points for their team. Katie also got on well with the other members of the squad. She laughed at Fred and George’s jokes, she was the one who helped new team member Ron sort out his Quidditch robes and she didn’t hold it against him when he accidentally gave her a nosebleed with a rogue Quaffle. We think you’re most like Katie if you’re someone that does their best work when part of a team. We imagine that you’re of the opinion that two heads are always better than one. You’re probably more of an extrovert and would hate to work in a job that is solitary by nature.

## If you’re known for your fantastic sportsmanship… you’re like Cedric Diggory
There were loads of brilliant things about Cedric Diggory – he was smart, talented, popular and he always showed excellent sportsmanship on the Quidditch pitch. As a Hufflepuff, he liked things to be fair. So, when he caught the Snitch before realising Harry had come off his broom due to Dementors swarming the pitch, he immediately tried to call for a rematch. He didn’t have to do that. He hadn’t cheated or done anything wrong (even Oliver Wood was forced to admit this) but he wanted to do what he felt was right – even if it would help an opponent. If you would have done the exact same thing, then you’re most like Cedric. You have strong principles and like to be as fair as possible in any situation. You’re not prepared to compromise your morals to achieve your goals and have probably been called honourable before.

## The tapestry

This tapestry, which depicts an ancient hunt for a Golden Snidget, is one of the biggest pieces in the entire book. It took Emily around 2 weeks to complete. If you look closely, it’s filled with all sorts of commotion, magical creatures, a Latin description and other little details.

‘The tapestry, inspired by the Bayeaux tapestry, was a massive challenge actually, because there were so many elements that I had to make look right,’ Emily said. ‘And I’m not a sewer, so I had to figure out a way to make it look like I’d sewn it in Photoshop – working out how to make stitches and then using individual stitches in Photoshop, so it took about two weeks! I scanned in an old piece of linen as the background and then sewed it together digitally.’

Emily also called out this Kenmare Kestral’s leprechaun mascot as one of her favourite pieces, which she made a real-life version of using needle-felting. “I still have him somewhere!” she said.

‘Each one of the Quidditch teams has a badge, so I designed them as logos, but then I thought I’d put all the team ‘merchandise’ in there and make that for real – that’s how I ended up making patches too.’

The British and Irish Quidditch Teams section of the book was one of the first chapters Emily worked on. And for each team, she was sure to include little details that were true to their real-life locations.

‘There’s little chapter headings in the book so I was trying to find references for each place. Appleby, for example, has a horse fair, so that’s why there’s a little carriage on it and Wigtown has the books. 

## The Quidditch players

‘I used to play roller derby, so in my head, roller derby and Quidditch have sort of become the same sport. Roller skates and brooms are not the same at all, but it’s that kind of speed and the ‘being hit’ element of it, so I was thinking of safety gear, knee pads and wrist guards, etc. And the players. The thing I liked about roller derby is there’s quite a lot of diversity, in body shapes and sizes, and I wanted to get that across in the team members I was drawing – make sure they weren’t all just svelte athletes. It’s quite an inclusive sport. After all, you’re sitting on a broom!

I was a bit worried about this chapter because at first, I thought it would be a bit dull – it’s just about balls! But the actual fold-out Quidditch balls sort of amazed me – I thought it’d be a great thing to actually put the actual-size of the balls in – so I measured them on Photoshop. When I saw them printed out, I thought, ‘that can’t be right?’. But I did loads of research into the sizes to make sure I had the most accurate Quaffle!

## Her loyalty

Although the Ginny we met in *Philosopher’s Stone* was shy and awkward, particularly with Harry – [a far cry from the Ginny](https://www.wizardingworld.com/features/favourite-couple-moments-harry-ginny-ron-hermione-cursed-child) of *Cursed Child*, who had no problem challenging Harry’s behaviour – there was one consistent thread that runs through all Ginny’s rela-tionships: she was fiercely and unendingly loyal. 

Whether it was defending Harry to Malfoy after that whole Lockhart bookshop debacle, sticking up for Neville and Luna, fighting to protect her loved ones during the Battle of Hogwarts, or forcing Harry to engage with their son, Albus, on his terms, Ginny always had everyone’s best interests at heart, and she’d do whatever was needed to protect them.

## Her determination

Despite being desperate to follow in her older brother’s footsteps Ginny did not have the most auspicious start at Hogwarts. But while being slowly possessed by an early version of Lord Voldemort might be enough to knock the stuffing out of other first-years, for Ginny, her experience with Tom Riddle’s diary did not defeat her.

That’s not to say she ever forgot it. When Harry was struggling to understand what had happened after the vision he had of Voldemort attacking Arthur Weasley, it was Ginny who made him realise that refusing to talk wasn’t helping.

## Her bravery

Another trait Ginny shared with Harry was bravery. As she says of him in *Cursed Child*:

People think they know all there is to know about you, but the best bits of you are – have always been – heroic in really quiet ways.”

This is something that could equally apply to Ginny. Yes, she showed undeniable brav-ery when she escaped Umbridge’s Inquisitorial Squad; when she, Neville and Luna followed Harry to the Department of Mysteries; when she tried to steal Gryffindor’s sword; and – of course – during the Battle of Hogwarts. But Ginny was also brave in other ways. 

After shedding her initial awkwardness, she pursued romantic relationships without fear or embarassment. She was never afraid to call out the bad behaviour of her brothers, her teachers, even Harry. And she, too, supported others in quietly heroic ways. She insisted on sitting with Luna on the Hogwarts Express, when others were avoiding her. She refused to let Neville call himself a nobody. And as a mother, she recognised that what Albus needed from Harry was acceptance, not heroics.  

## Her talent

Ginny was a witch of many talents: [Quidditch](https://www.wizardingworld.com/features/things-you-might-not-know-about-quidditch), sports writing, Bat Bogey Hexes.

But even more admirable than her skills was her confidence in, and open enjoyment, of them. She preferred playing Chaser to Seeker, because she liked scoring goals. She was a committed [member of the DA](https://www.wizardingworld.com/features/which-member-of-dumbledores-army-are-you-like). And she was a fierce dueller – singled out by her brother George as evidence of the fact that “size is no guarantee of power.” 

So while we might not share Ginny’s magical talents, we can still try and emulate the pleasure she took in practicing the things she excelled at.

## Her way of looking at the world

Ginny may have originally been overshadowed by other members of her family, she may have taken a few years to find her voice, and she may have once poured her heart out to the preserved memory of Voldemort. But as she grew up, Ginny emerged as one of the Wizarding World’s most fearless characters. Perhaps this is best summed up in *Order of the Phoenix*:

“The thing about growing up with Fred and George,” said Ginny thoughtfully, “is that you start thinking anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.”

And it wasn’t just Fred and George’s nerve that Ginny inherited. Growing up with her older brothers also taught her when to find the humour in a situation – she had that light-hearted Weasley touch that made even difficult situations seem a bit more fun. After all, who else would shut down an annoying classmate with a Bat Bogey Hex, nickname their sister-in-law Pleghm, or openly tell Harry he was being stupidly noble?

So thanks, Ginny, for all the times you supplied that silver lining we were looking for. Oh, and happy birthday.
