Today we can reveal some of the talented voiceover artists who will feature in Hogwarts Legacy. You can also get your first look at Simon Pegg’s portrayal of Phineas Nigellus Black, who will serve as Hogwarts’ cantankerous headmaster in the game.

With Hogwarts Legacy releasing in just a short number of weeks now, here’s some exciting news about the game’s cast, alongside a preview of the Hogwarts headmaster of the time, played by the brilliant Simon Pegg.

Simon Pegg will be joined by a roster of voiceover talent, including those that will voice your own avatar in the game. Sebastian Croft plays one of your avatar voice options, while Amelia Gething voices the other. In the game, your voice can be customised, allowing players to perfect their character with the utmost detail.

Many Harry Potter fans will be very familiar with the name of Simon Pegg’s role, Phineas Nigellus Black: this is one of Sirius Black’s ancestors, noted as one of the least-liked headmasters in Hogwarts history. In the books, the grumpy, unwilling Phineas appears as a portrait hanging in Professor Dumbledore’s office, who reluctantly helps send a message to his twin portrait in Grimmauld Place, the Black family home. In the game, we’ll learn all about how he got such a bad reputation in Hogwarts history.

Another familiar name that popped up in the preview video that is sure to get fans chatting fervently is the reveal of Professor Matilda Weasley, played by SAG Award winner, Lesley Nicol. As the Sorting Hat once said: “Another Weasley?” We know Ron’s family is an ancient magical family stemming back decades – is Matilda an old ancestor?

Fans will also be thrilled to learn of Luke Youngblood’s return to the Wizarding World, who will voice the role of the prankster Ravenclaw Everett Clopton in the game. This is not Luke’s first rodeo though: the young actor of course rose to fame as Lee Jordan in the Harry Potter films! Asif Ali plays another Ravenclaw student, Mahendra Pehlwaan, a Muggle-born student with a penchant for sticking to the rules. (Remind you of anyone?)

Rounding off the rest of the voice cast announcements is Kandace Caine, who plays the dual roles of Gryffindor student Natsai and her mother, Divination Professor Onai. Other Hogwarts staff include Professor Satyavati Shah, who teaches Astronomy, voiced by Sohm Kapila.

And finally, Jason Anthony will be lending his voice to two characters we already know and love: the Sorting Hat and Nearly Headless Nick respectively. We can’t wait to meet these two Hogwarts mainstays once again – and indeed, meet the rest of this exciting list of characters!

Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to launch worldwide for PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 10, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One will launch on April 4 and Nintendo Switch on July 25.
