UPDATE: Following the impact of COVID-19, the opening of this store has been delayed to 2021. However, fans can soon expect some of its products to be available online later this year.
This first-of-its-kind Wizarding World experiential store will serve as a next-door neighbour to one of New York’s most iconic landmarks, the Flatiron Building, at 935 Broadway. So, unlike Diagon Alley, Muggles certainly won’t miss this.
The Harry Potter New York store will house the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts products in the world under one roof.
Wizarding World fans will be able to peruse everything, from Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans to personalised robes, along with rare collectible items, hand-signed artwork, and exclusive ranges. The building is designed to be fully accessible for wheelchair users.
Sarah Roots, Senior Vice President for Worldwide Tours and Retail at Warner Bros., said:
‘This will be the largest dedicated Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts store in the world and will become a must-visit fan destination where Wizarding World enthusiasts can engage with interactive experiences and numerous photo opportunities as they step into the magic.’
So, for now, enjoy some of the concept designs and look out for more details soon.
