The Tales of Beedle the Bard began its life as a fiction-book referenced in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where we learnt of 'The Tale of the Three Brothers'. In 2008, J.K. Rowling wrote the rest of these tales and compiled them in a new book, with the proceeds going to her children’s charity Lumos.
