HARRY POTTER FANS AND GAMERS
APPARATE TO THE MALL TOUR

Parents beware! Halloween is closer than you think.... Wizarding World advises you to stash away some of the Harry PotterTM Trading Card Game (TCG) products before the holidays get too close.

If the mall tour is any indication of what is to come, the Harry Potter TCG from Wizards of the Coast may be in short supply come December. On the first weekend of the tour, over 500 kids attended demos and tried out all the tricks and treats.

See the Harry Potter mall tour schedule on the WB site to see if it will be appearing near you:

Even though kids are the target, it makes for a really fun and easy game for adults who want to get in some play-time with their children. The game is quick, active, and straight-forward - giving each player 2 actions per turn. Since the strategy and difficulty of the game are starting out fairly simple, the targeted 8-9 year-old will most likely have no problem getting into the game (which means that parents won't be left behind by their own proteges).

Just like Pokemon, additional cards are sold in "booster packs," however, unlike Pokemon, there are NO 1st edition versions to drive prices through the ceiling. This will be a game set - not a collector's set. Nonetheless, some of the cards will be more difficult to obtain, so trading and collecting will take place, but it should be more healthy as there will not be extremely rare editions.

As with other popular games, the real challenge will come in November when the video game will be released. Kids will have a lot of fun with Harry Potter this year.

Wizards of the Coast (WotC) is the manufacturer of many popular fantasy games including: the Role-Playing Game Dungeons and Dragons®, the Collectible Card Game Magic: The Gathering® (on which most CCGs are based), and the licensed manufacturer of the U.S. version of Pokémon®.
