Thank you, fans, for your support! Even though we are now sold out of both the "Uncorrected Proof" and the official First Editions....
THERE'S ANOTHER GREAT EDITION that a majority of the stores are carrying (Yeah!). However, we are still receiving e-owls from some of you, saying your local bookstores haven't been able to find our Guide at all (Boo!). While it appears that the blue cover First Editions are now sold out, we have now printed a bunch of the new "Special 'Phoenix' Countdown Issue" (Yippee!). If you already own one of the earlier versions, and would like to see the new Phoenix information, you can access it by
clicking here.
The easiest place to find our books is at Borders Books and Music or Barnes&Noble. It's still not always easy to find our Guide. Sometimes that's because we are still just barely printing enough to meet the orders coming in. Other times, though, since the Guide is so new, the stores just seem to have trouble finding it in their computer systems. The longer we are out there, the easier it gets for the stores to figure out how to find us. Just be persistent, because we do have a lot of books out there now. We know that there are at least 7,000 copies of the "Special 'Phoenix' Countdown Issue" (somewhere)! We are in the process of printing another 10,000 of those, so they will be available this month -- plenty of time before JKR's Book 5.
It can still be a bit difficult to find us through Borders customer service desk, plus other stores often have the same problem. You should easily be able to find the Guide in the Young-Adult sections. However, if you have to inquire about the book at the desk, or by phone, the title may not show up. The out-of-stock "Proof" edition seems to show up correctly (but, of course, it's out of stock). If you need them to look-up any of the blue cover editions, you will have the best luck if you ask for it by AUTHOR or ISBN number:
Author - Galadriel Waters
ISBN - 0972393617
The online booksellers -- including Amazon, Borders, BarnesandNobel, and bamm.com -- have generally had them back in stock fairly reliably now. We have a great retail distributor - SCB Distributors. That means, your bookstores can order directly from them if they can't find it elsewhere. It also means we no longer have to ship out every...single...book ourselves -- the distributor is now handling it all (Whew!)
Unfortunately, that also means the Guide information (and any changes to that) is entered into each system that tracks it. As you all know, there are a LOT of books getting put into the systems every day, so we have to be patient
(grrrrr...gnash teeth...tap..tap..tap) while we wait for these processes to take place. Nonetheless, it now seems to be working quite smoothly, and we apologize to those of you who still are having trouble finding it. We realise that it is much easier to find the book if you live in a large metropolis, and that you have to rely on your local bookstore in a small town. Just give them the information above, and they should be able to track it down for you :o)
Finally, we are still printing books as fast as we can - since we are using the money from sales to do more printings. It is possible that we may contunue to go out of stock at times, but that only means we have sold enough to be able to print more!!! You can check this page for updates.
Thank you, once again, for your support!

What are the differences between the blue cover edition and the proof edition?
Mostly typos - and some incomplete sentences were completed. Plus we tried to
word things more clearly in places where the magical world is a bit challenging
to "Muggle" language. Also, our latest issue is also almost completely
edited (finally)! If you are (or know someone) who is sensitive to the errors in
our first printings, the "Special 'Phoenix' Countdown Issue" is for
them. We know that it's not 100% typo-free, but we are now very happy with it.
SPECIFIC ADDITIONS TO BLUE COVER VERSION:
At the beginning of Book 2, we pointed out some extra chicken references - to
help make those more obvious.
The Rowlinguistic for Madame Maxime's name was missing from the proof edition.
The only notable change, is a clue at the end of Book 3 (U.K.), that we didn't
see until we finally got a copy of the Bloomsbury version and read it all the
way to the end.
SPECIAL "PHOENIX COUNTDOWN ISSUE"
This contains an extra 3-page insert in the Restricted Area that analyzes those
famous excerpts from Book 5 that Bloomsbury and Scholastic have released in
order to tease us (it's working!).
THOSE ARE THE ONLY MYSTERY-RELATED ADDITIONS.
We purposely limited the changes once we printed our first proof. That way,
everyone can reference the same information (until Book 5 - that is!).
If you want to see what new findings we have that didn't make it into the Guide,
plus some great ones that other HP Sleuths have submitted, you can check out our HP Sleuth Homepage.

What
Readers Are Saying....
Wow! You brought
several things to light that I missed. The translation of names was new
to me because many books just give a history of the name. You also brought
up some excellent plot loops that may affect the next books. If they ever
have a class on Harry Potter then this is the handbook! John (Harry
Potter discussion board member)
I haven't been this
thrilled about a book since Goblet of Fire…I can't tear myself away.
It's going to be great sharing it with my kids and colleagues. I'll keep
in touch to let you know how we're using it. You've given me a great deal
to think about, and it's not even 9:00 A.M.! Nina (a teacher from
Kentucky)
